3D landscapes
Navigating with 3D terrain modeling provides a real sensation of what is around you. While around town, bridges appear elevated making turn offs much easier to spot. In regional areas, mountain peaks & valleys are displayed in 3D which aids in finding your correct bearings.
3D landmarks
Around town, major landmarks are displayed in 3D directly on the map. Landmarks provide visual cues while navigating.
Spoken Street Names (Text to Speech)
The 2009 range of AVNCs are the first in dash navigation systems to features spoken street names. With Australia wide coverage, the street name is included when voice instructions are given. For example, instead of just “Turn left in 100 metres”, the system will instruct “turn left in 100 metres onto Smith”.
Fixed Red light & Speed Camera alerts
Avoid costly penalties. The AVNC warns of known fixed & speed cameras along the route.
HEMA 4WD Maps & POI
Hema 4WD data extends the AVNC’s mapping coverage into regional & outback areas of Australia. HEMA’s points of interests front its paper maps are also included. These POIs provide useful information on locations of Camping sites, Caravan parks, fueling stations, etc. The HEMA data is a must for touring & 4WDs.
Track logs
Track logs (bread crumbs) are used to record where your vehicle has been making back tracking easier when lost. This feature is now available on street navigation.
